Dr. Camille Wright has served as an elementary and junior high school teacher, an elementary and high school principal , adjunct professor, director of secondary curriculum and instruction, and has recently been named a superintendent. She holds degrees from both Auburn and Alabama universities, has served on several state committees as well as the governor’s Career and Technical education commission, has presented for local, state, and national organizations conferences, is a member of a host of educational organizations, and has served in leadership and officer positions in many of them. In addition to educational organizations, she has been active in county and church organizations.
Dr. Wright has been described by her nominators as a visionary with a sixth sense that guides her, who walks the talk, leads by example, and who has made an unmistakable impact on her school system. Dr. Bice has said about her that she “brings a passion to the art and science of teaching and learning that is infectious.” He also says, “she commands an audience, calls it like it is, and refuses to be held captive to the status quo!” She is described as driven, highly motivated, and a coach at heart, and she tells great and entertaining stories.
